Also known as molly or ecstacy, it’s technically not a psychedelic. Taken in appropriately small doses, most do not experience hallucinations or breaks from reality. It is an empathogen. It basically causes your body to release its stored serotonin which can cause feelings of euphoria, love, connectedness, vulnerability, etc… for a few hours. It is currently being researched in treatment of PTSD and depression.
While you often hear of this being used at parties or raves, and people dancing all night with it, my wife and I use it differently. About the same timeframe I started with mushrooms, we also started using MDMA. Every 3 months we each take a weight-appropriate amount at the same time. As it takes effect, our minds and hearts are filled with love and connectedness. We feel the same kind of connection we felt when we first fell in love. We talk and dance and romance and feel like kids again. While most of it fades when the MDMA wears off, it helps us remember why we are together, and over the past few years our bond has gotten closer than ever.
