Medicine: Huachuma
Dose: ¾ Cup of “Super Zaila” medicine + ¼ cup of Sergey medicine + parika
Experience:
A favorite author of mine, Terry Pratchett, has a character in his books named Granny Weatherwax. In one of the books she says “Sin is treating other people like objects.”
I spent today thinking about my life and how it has impacted others. I have spent a career lifting up and supporting others. I have helped family and friends and been a good father and husband. My life has been well lived with very few “sins”.
If I knew someone like me I would like them. I kind of like myself and who I am. (This is a new and huge step for me).
I spent a lot of time examining my attitudes towards things. I used to be deadly allergic to bees before I got allergy injections. The other day I was stung by a bee in the field. I can either be angry that I was stung, or celebrate that I didn’t die, and appreciate everything that made it possible for me to be in a forest in Peru and be safe among bees. I can’t eat the bread I love in the US because of the type of gluten it contains, but I can eat the bread in Peru with its bans on GMO’s. I can mourn my loss of bread, or celebrate my current access to it. I need to apply this a lot more in my life.
